Project Little Hero

Project Little Hero is a "Thank you" based program for families of law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS, and Military Servicemen/women and our veterans.  So many of our heroes and their families sacrifice every single day to protect and serve our communities.  Many of these heroes also miss the holidays due to their shifts and department/unit needs including military overseas deployment to combat missions.

This program was created back in 2016 by a beloved local Military spouse, Emily Mather.  Emily is an Elizabeth Dole Fellow who gave her time and efforts alongside her husband, an OIF Combat Veteran whose also a Purple Heart recipient. We wanted to keep the program alive and well but also ensure that Emily was recognized for starting it in 2014.

It's always important to us that we do something to express our gratitude and bring the cheer to our heroes and their families.  We host a holiday toy drive with Santa and many special guests to boost the morale and support to their families.

The funds in this program also provide school supplies at the beginning of the school year to these heroes and their families.

Supporting the families that sacrifice so much!

We aid in support of these families with school supplies to ease the burden and make life easier for their heroes.  The event takes place in August ahead of the school year and accept submissions for support from first responders, military & veterans families.

In 2024 alone, over 1,000 children were impacted.

Spreading Holiday Cheer While Expressing Gratitude

The same is done with our annual Holiday Toy Drive in December, where hundreds of our heroes children come and shop for toys based on their ages.  We get a large part of the support from donors, Good360 Program & in joint efforts with Team Rubicon and other organizations including the Dollar Tree stores in our area.

We aspire to serve at least 500 children every single year with this program.  Every dollar donated will make a tangible impact in our first responder, military and veteran communities.
